MISSION STATEMENT
Mission of Hope is established to positively impact the lives of the Haitian people: spirit, soul and body.
VISION
Medium for impact: Mission of Hope shall not be an island, but a bridge between individuals, churches, organizations, communities and nations. It is imperative that people, churches and organizations work together in order to cause greater and more widespread impact within the nation of Haiti. Mission of Hope will make its people resources, on the ground resources and management capabilities available to others with similar visions for impacting the lives of the Haitian people.
Impact Spiritually: Mission of Hope wants to see people enter into or enhance their relationship with the Lord Jesus and to know the truth of God’s Word for themselves. To this end, we envision being involved in:
· Church planting and oversight
· Discipleship training
· Leadership training
· Evangelistic outreaches
· Bible study
Impact Intellectually, Emotionally and Socially: Mission of Hope would like to see Haitian society develop by helping to develop individual minds and community vision. To this end, we envision being involved in:
· Christ-centered private elementary and high schools
· Bible schools
· Music education
· Professional and trade schools
· Business seminars
· Computer training and internet access
· Community development projects
· Caring for orphans
Impact Physically: There are basic human needs that are often not met in Haitian society today. Mission of Hope desires to help meet the current physical needs, while working on long-term solutions to the problems. To this end, we envision being involved in:
· Daily feedings for students and orphans
· Community food distributions
· Medical care services
· Agricultural projects (crops and husbandry)
· Micro-financing
· Small business development
· Alternative energy
The Overflow: While the focus of Mission of Hope is on the people of Haiti, we also expect others to benefit from the work that is being done in Haiti. People from more developed countries will have the opportunity to partner with MOH physically, as well as financially. People coming to visit and help at MOH will likely learn to look at things a little differently, build relationships with some remarkable Haitians and likely have some incredible encounters with the Lord. It is our hope that those visiting would change the world around them, no matter where that may be.
STATEMENT OF BELIEFS
Mission of Hope operates as an interdenominational, Christian outreach, reaching out to and working with all people, fulfilling the Great Commission as the hands and feet of Jesus. We believe that the Holy Bible is the Word of God, a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. We believe that all have sinned and are in need of eternal salvation. We believe that Jesus came from the Father, was born of a virgin, lived as a man, was crucified and died to redeem mankind from their sin, was buried, resurrected, ascended into heaven, is coming again and it is only through Jesus, by grace, that we have access to God, the Father. We believe it is the responsibility of every believer in Jesus, to study and obey the Bible and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) in their lives.
